The English Riviera is a great family holiday resort in South Devon, consisting of Brixham, Paignton & Torquay, all located around the coastline of Torbay, aptly known as The English Riviera and home to the Torbay palm.
It is the Torbay palm that helps give the resort a real Mediterranean feeling along with other exotic plants, which because of the mild climate of the bay are now appearing in even greater numbers, for example the Canary palm, there are some really established specimens at Goodrington Sands beach by Youngs Park.
The English Riviera´s 22 mile of coastline has a diverse range of beaches and coves, some of which are nice and sandy, with the sands gently sloping into the sea. Most are managed daily to remove seaweed & stones, tides permitting, and some, like Broadsands are located in an idealistic rural setting, while others like Goodrington have Youngs Park adjacent to the beach with the steam railway as an idealistic back drop to the openness of Clennon Valley.
Paignton Sands & Abbey Sands Torquay, have the convenience of close proximity to their town centres with plenty of shops, pubs, bars and restaurants.

Brixham with its working harbour and surrounded by quaint fisherman´s cottages is the home of the replica ship, Sir Frances Drake´s "The Golden Hind"
The palm tree logo has been used to promote the English Riviera all around the world.
