The Goodrington Guide has been set up to promote the holiday resort of Goodrington in Paignton Devon. In my opinion, the best beach in Torbay. A truly family friendly coastal area away from the roads, with lots to do and an openness that spans clennon valley, helps you forget the hassle and bustle of modern living.
Sitting on the beach with the sound of the sea surf and then the whistle of the steam train, wow, what a wonderful way to relax and chill out.
Goodrington Sands Beach in Paignton is at the heart of the English Riviera, midway between Brixham and Torquay, a safe sandy award winning family beach, unique in Torbay in that at high tide there is still quite a lot of beach left to sit on at the southern end of the beach.
The beach is managed and raked daily by tractor, tides permitting, to remove seaweed and pebbles to leave the beach nice and sandy.
Here you can hire pedalos, sun loungers, beach huts or deck chairs, and for the energetic, water skiing sessions or ringo rides from Skiwest, or go for a stroll through the rock gardens and over Roundham Head to Paignton harbour.

The Steam train from Paignton to Dartmouth runs directly alongside the beach and can be boarded here at Goodrington station.
Goodrington Sands Beach has a Blue Flag award and is also home to Quaywest Water Park which has 8 slides & flumes, swimming pool and childrens toddler play areas, with the water heated to 80° you can relax on the gentle Surf Lagoon or experience the exhilarating Screamer or the Wild Kamikaze. There is so much for everyone to enjoy from tube slides, body slides, triple drop slides & freefall slides.
Dogs are allowed on the beach at Goodrington North Sands but are banned from Goodrington South Sands from 1st May to 30th September; But beware, there is a strict anti dog fouling regime in place on both Goodrington Sands beach and the adjacent park.
