Saltern Cove

Saltern Cove is only a 4 to 5 minute stroll along the coast path from Goodrington Sands Beach.

Saltern Cove is a site of special scientific interest and a local nature reserve. Uniquely in Britain, the local nature reserve extends underwater to a point 376 metres below low water mark. Torbay's Marine World is a hidden jewel with 16 marine sites of national importance, including Saltern Cove. Visit the Seashore Centre on Goodrington Sands Beach where they are trying to unlock the box to reveal this great jewel.

Follow the coast path up from Saltern cove, which climbs for about 200 metres and you come to Sugar Loaf Hill, which has the most spectacular breathtaking views you can imagine of the bay. Continue on along the coast path for about a mile and you will come to Broadsands beach, A short distance on from Broadsands you get to the pretty beach of Elberry Cove, a picturesque shingle beach, secluded, and surrounded by woodlands, where the path then goes through woods before emerging at the edge of Brixham harbour, with it's imposing breakwater and on into the centre of Brixham.
